Big Life Update

I’ll get back to Attitude’s recent mischief in a moment, but since I haven’t talked about my life here in a good while, I should probably recap the last few months for your benefit.

I’m still working as a freelance writer, usually from home. Sometimes, I go in coffee shops, just so I can see people. Minx occasionally joins me and plays pranks on unsuspecting customers (usually minor stuff, like embarrassing wardrobe malfunctions).

I’m not dating anyone. After gaining faerie sight, it became pretty easy to pick up girls. It was a great boost to my self-confidence. I realized, however, that I was headed down a very slippery slope, morally speaking. Minx didn’t really understand why my problem was, but she helped me tune out the ability so that I don’t really notice sexual arousal unless I deliberately want to see it.

I dated Fredrika for a while, but it didn’t work out. I’ve come to realize I like girls with strong, bold personalities, and Fredrika was a bit too much of a wallflower for my taste.

Brooke and Meghan are still together. They share an apartment near the Old Port. It’s pretty posh.

I have no clue where Mandy is gone. She’s still MIA.

But now, back to the recent events. More specifically, let’s talk about Blog, that entity that had “invaded” my electronic space. It looked like something living in the cloud, in the vicinity of my website. It’s been wiped clean now, but it’s been keeping busy for the last year and change. Keeping busy doing what, you ask? Keeping busy maintaining a relationship with Morgan, of all people!

So here’s what happened (again, put together from my conversations with Minx and Attitude): Blog kept electronic contact with Morgan, my former sexy MILF of a boss. It went as far as impersonating me (video and audio) through Skype conversations. I’ve found the logs of those conversations, too. For some reason, Blog seemed to enjoy recording them. It seems to have learned a lot about me over time and did a very credible model of my appearance. And for reasons that are still beyond me at this time, it preyed on Morgan’s weird attraction to me, and had her do all sorts of very sexual things for the camera. (Seriously, I know people who’d PAY to see what she did.)

But that stuff isn’t the important (or most interesting) part of what happened. Blog’s logs have allowed me to find Morgan’s electronic contact info. So last night, I contacted her. I didn’t let on that I wasn’t the copy of myself (and I realize how weird this sounds as I write it), just to avoid alarming her. I’m still not sure what happened to her, but I want to find out. She’s in town, but didn’t want to tell me where she lives. We’ve agreed to meet in person. This surprised her a little, apparently because “I’ve” repeatedly refused to do it in the last year, but she was thrilled that I’d changed my mind. (From the way she talked, she’s way deeper into this relationship than I am, and I have to be careful about what I say and do, if I don’t want to spook her.)

So we’re meeting tomorrow night at some bar, the Cherry Pick. I’ll tell you more about it after I’ve meet her. Maybe this will be an opportunity to catch that Hobo that’s been torturing her…

Fredrika = Matsumoto Rangiku

There’s an anime convention in town this weekend. Last night, there was a cosplay contest, and Fredrika had asked me earlier in the week if I could come, and even bring some friends, to help cheer for her. (Apparently, these contests aren’t judged by a panel, but by the crowd itself.)

When I got to the conference hall, I called Fredrika to let her know I’d arrived, and for her to meet me in the main hall. When she met me, she was wearing this large overcoat that completely hid her costume. I could tell she wanted to surprise me with what was under it. I couldn’t help but joke a little.

“You know, that coat thing is a little creepy. You ARE wearing something under this, right?”

She laughed, blushing a little.

“Come this way and find out.”

We went to a more secluded corner of the hall, and with her back to the people wandering about, she dropped the coat.

Holy Mammaries, Batman! She was dressed as Matsumoto Rangiku, a rather… “racktastic” character from the anime series Bleach. Considering how modest Fredrika’s chest is, I couldn’t quite figure out how she had managed to turn herself from a small B-cup into… that! (Yeah, yeah, the costume was pretty well made, but seriously, that was some impressive cleavage.)

“Wow! That’s some pretty impressive… work, right there.”

She nodded, clearly happy with my reaction.

“It’s amazing what a bit of padding and proper positioning will do, right?”

I realized I was staring at her breasts and tore my eyes to look up. “You really… look the part. Seriously, that’s… all you?”

“Yes,” she said. “Actually, the character is a bit… bigger. But that’s all I could manage.”

I kind of wished for a moment she’d been able to manage a little bit more, but hey, that was still pretty good.

“Okay, the contest starts in 5 minutes. I should… *oooh*”

She brought a hand to her head and steadied herself against the wall. She looked a little dizzy and confused. She was breathing a little heavily, which drew my attention to her chest once more. That’s when I noticed she was growing… bigger in that area. It didn’t last long, maybe 5-10 seconds, but she got big enough that I was very worried she was going to pop out of her kimono-thing.

Damn. These things were almost hypnotic, they were so big!

The dizziness seemed to pass. She looked around, a little confused but otherwise normal.

“Fredrika? Are you all right?”

She shot me an odd look. “Who’s this Fredrika? My name is Matsumoto Rangiku, and I am a Shinigami! If you’re done ogling me, I have a contest to attend — and win!”

And with that, she moved past me and went up the stairs. I noticed it wasn’t just her breasts that had grown, it was her whole figure that had somehow been changed.

It took me only a second to figure it out. I opened by left jacket pocket and looked inside. Yup, sure enough, there was Minx, one hand covering her mouth to suppress her childish giggle.

I really have to be more careful  what stuff I think or wish for, even if I think I’m alone. You never know when a faerie’s going to overhear it and act on it…

Would it surprise you to learn that Fredrika won the contest?

(And yes, she returned to normal afterwards, and never quite realized what had happened to her body during the contest.)

Coffee and a Revelation

Sorry to be updating so late. I just came back from coffee (or COFFEES, as in 4-5 of them) with Fredrika.

It turns out the girl is quite the geek, and I mean that in a serious way.

Let me start at the beginning. We were supposed to meet for coffee around 8PM, but I finished work a bitl ater than usual (rush project), so we pushed it back to 9PM. And unfortunately, I got held up by some last minute edits on a book, which just had to be done tonight, so I arrived about 15 minutes late. So there she was, waiting quietly as a mouse in her little dark corner of the coffee shop, listening to music and tapping the screen of her iPad. (I discovered a bit later, during the conversation, that she was making sketches and caricatures of the people in the cafe.)

I apologized for being late, offered to buy another coffee (she’d just finished her first, which suggested she’d been here for a bit), and did the usual introductory chit chat. I was kind of dying to find out why she wanted us to have coffee, but I didn’t want to be the one to bring it up. So it was a good 15 minutes before she broached the topic.

“So, did you ever find that woman you were looking for? And that hobo you had me draw?”

I explained (with very little detail) how everything had gone, told her that I’d seen Morgan a few months back (before Christmas), but never the hobo. She said it was too bad and kind of fell silent.

I waited for her to talk, but she was mute. So I did what I usually do, and I filled the silence with the sound of my own voice.

“Him, I don’t care about, he’s just some creep pervert. But Morgan, well… we had a… close relationship. I’m kind of hoping she’s all right, but at the same time, I think my life is better without her. She really messed things up, maybe not deliberately, but she really messed things up with my girlfriend at the time.. So I kind of don’t miss her, but at the same time, I’m really wondering what happened to her.”

And I went on, and rambled for a bit. Then I realized Fredrika was pretty silent, and I looked at her.

“So why am I here? I mean, why did you want to have coffee with me?”

She fidgeted.

“Do I need a reason? Maybe I’m just mysterious and unpredictable?”

It was meant to be coy and flirtatious, but she had all the timing and confidence of a gangly teenager. I didn’t know what to say, but I knew if I didn’t come to her rescue, this would become disastrously awkward. So I did what any self-respecting geek would do: I nodded at her iPad.

“Third gen?”

She nodded.

“I hear the camera’s great.”

She jumped on the safely line I was throwing her and ran with it.

“Oh yeah, the best! And that’s not all…”

She started spewing all sorts of iTechnicalities and iSpecs that I was only mildly familiar with. I could see she was getting excited about it, so I encouraged her to show me some of the cooler features of her device. And at some point, while it was in my hands and I was browsing through some of the apps, I stumbled onto her photo album, and one of them was titled “SDCC” (which, I discovered later, meant San Diego Comic Con). I started browsing at some of the photos there, and there were a lot of them of this hot chick doing cosplay (if you’ve never heard of this, look it up!). She was doing an amazing Lara Croft, but also Bayonetta and a very sexy Catwoman (the goggles version). When I asked Fredrika who was that hottie, she just blushed. And my faerie sight told me she was VERY pleased at the compliment.

I blinked.

“That’s YOU?!?”

“Y-yeah… but you can’t tell anyone about this, I’d die if my colleagues found out I do this.”

“No way!” I said. “Your secret’s safe with me.”

I poked around the albums a bit more.

“Any more of you in there?”

“Um, yeah… Let me show you…”

So folks, it turns out that this little conservative, repressed librarian-type-girl has some kind of volcano inside her that is just waiting to erupt. Some of the photos she showed me were… well, I’ll just say they weren’t photos she’d show her parents — ever!

And before we left, she made me promise I’d do a photo session with her some time soon. She wants to show me some of her costumes…

So. To be continued, I guess.

The Sketch Girl

I went to the movies last night and ran into Fredrika, the girl who did a sketch of Morgan for the police last year. I thought for a moment she might be alone, but she told me she was here with her boyfriend, who was “over there, getting popcorn and drinks.”

We chatted a little bit, and I could quickly tell she liked me. I’d never noticed that, last year. She asked me if that missing woman (meaning Morgan) had ever been found, so I updated her on that (well, partially, at least). I said she’d been seen, but was still missing at this time.

Her boyfriend came to join us around that time. Fredrika introduced us, we shook hands, and we parted ways.

Interestingly enough, my last reading on her was that she liked me more than she liked her boyfriend.

A Little Update

I’ve been pretty silent the few weeks because there just hasn’t been all that much to talk about. The new job is panning out nicely, and the folks I work with (when I’m in the office, twice a week) are very easygoing and laid back. We’re doing children’s books, after all. (And before you go off calling me names because of the Albert thread in the past few weeks, rest assured that my work there is irreproachably pure and chaste.) And my colleagues are fairly conservative (they’re also on average a good ten years older than I am). It’s nice to be working in a totally non-sexual atmosphere…

Here’s what’s going on with the various people in my life: Continue reading “A Little Update”

The Long Silence

Hi all,

I’ve been very silent in the last two weeks (wow, TWO weeks already?!?), and to be honest, not a whole lot has happened of any interest.

First off, I’ve found a new job (okay, so maybe THAT’s interesting, I dunno…). Anyway, that’s kept me kind of busy. What’s the job? Ironically, I’ll be editing children’s books. It’s a pretty big departure from being a web editor. Also, big contrast with the rather adult content of this webcomic. And there’s more:  I can work from home three days a week; I have to be at the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I’m very happy with this outcome, really. Continue reading “The Long Silence”
