In most versions of Hinduism Karma is about balance. You are probably thinking of Bad Karma. You do bad things and build up Bad Karma, which will balance things by getting payback/revenge. However, the same is true of good actions building up Good Karma, which balances by bringing good things your way.

Personally, I would rather just have the control words fade and he goes back to normal for now.

Yeah, and I don’t think the faeries like it when people take advantage of the curses they put on people to their own advantage. It’s one thing to take advantage the situation a curse causes but still not know what caused it or how to manipulate it. But it’s another situation when you figure out the curese and how to manipulate it to your own ends.
For example, I can see one of the faeries seeing Patience having fun with Lucky’s latest curse (indirectly caused by other fairy magic) and she decides to curse Patience to get horny whenever she hears the word ‘hard’ or is aroused whenever Lucky is.
Yeah, it DOES feel like I should have used that one a LONG time before, right? To tell the truth, I don’t really remember when I first thought about it. When I wrote the strip, though, it just felt like the perfect one for that title.
