  1. Strip #8 is problematic. Being wrong is not the same as lying. If the princess truly thought she was cured (which I’m inclined to think she did), it should not have triggered the curse.

Otherwise, the she got one hell of a gift:
Let’s see, the first number in the winning lottery ticket will be “1”… Ooooohhhh… No, “2”… Aaaaahhhhh… No, “3”… Hmmm, no orgasm. OK then, the second number will be “1”…

    1. The specific curse is: “From now on, you can only speak the truth.” So you may interpret that as lying, but that’s not quite correct. The literal interpretation would be “to speak something that is not currently true at this precise moment.” The past and future don’t come into it.

But this is also a tricky approach. It’s applying human logic and reason to faerie magic, which is notoriously unstable, whimsical and ephemeral. Who knows what subtleties (or even contradictions) have been woven into the magic itself? And it’s not to say that faerie magic can’t be a gift in some ways (ask Sir Thane!). Sometimes, there’s an upside to it. But that usually doesn’t last long, and eventually turns against the user.

So I wouldn’t worry too much about Princess Heather abusing this. And even if she does, we’ll be there, watching, enjoying every single orgasm (well, *I* will, anyway).

      1. From the strip: “Lying will”.

  2. Strip #10 [sigh] He’s Heather’s brother alright. Oh well, he is still a child, perhaps he will grow out of the self-centered phase. Although in this castle … .

    1. He’s a product of his environment. And sure, his sister is a selfish brat, and he may appear weaker in comparison, but that doesn’t mean he’s not a little perv in his own right.

      –Jaycee

  3. Heh. Useful stuff that Philter of Deception.

  4. Is it bad that I love Li Fang and Heather so much that I want to… whats the term…

“Ship” them? :D, I think Li’s calm nature can tame Heather’s… um. Crazy.

Officially my favorite couple in all of blooming fairys

  5. Heh heh… I never thought of them as a couple, but I can see why you’d like them.

    –Jaycee

  6. *sigh* i can’t help but feel sorry for the fairy whisperer…she was just trying to help. And once again the fairies get away with everything, with absolutely NOTHING able to stop them…a concept i’m finding less and less amusing as the premise gets dragged out longer and longer.

    1. It’s probably a good moment to point out that I’ve (discreetly) introduced a faerie predator in the blog, around this time last year. It hasn’t come to the foreground of any storyline yet, but it’s there. Faeries are not all-powerful, but (of course) they have human beats when it comes to magic.

As for the faerie whisperer, yeah, she “kinda” wanted to help. But her kind of help is delivered through the domination of a faerie, which isn’t exactly very nice (some would call it slavery). And considering the (unrevealed) background history between the human and fae races, it’s not all that surprising that the faeries react with such extreme prejudice. (I’m going to get to that story, one day… Just haven’t gotten to it just yet…)

This said, I understand your irritation. I can’t say much more about this without spoiling some plot points ahead of time…

I really hope this isn’t the end of this strip.

  8. fair enough. And i’ve have had some sympathy for the fairie in captivity back when the whisperer held her if a.) the whisperer showed ANY signs of mistreating the fairy(which she didn’t) and b.) evey fairy i’ve thus far seen has been a malicious little bi***. largely DESERVING of being locked up in a cage for the safety of others. But yeah, i can see how there might be backstory i’m not yet aware of…(i can only react to what i’ve seen though, which is not flattering for the fairies)

  9. Hah, great ending to this prologue. I wonder if the Whisperer and the fairy will come to some sort of understanding.

Certainly the Whisperer can understand that for the most part, fairy tricks are just harmless fun. And certainly the fairy can understand that sometimes things go way, way beyond harmless.

Will be interesting to see where things go from here. 🙂

  10. I have yet to see ANY indication of a fairy that gives a damn. As they have been thus far depicted, i really , REALLY hate the magical bullies.

What i’m curious about though is if the fiary’s curse on the whisperer will actually prevent her from gaining control again. having a spontaneous orgasm once a day is NOT the same as having sex(and i think we’ll just ignore the implicaitons of magical rape that are going on here). So hopefully in 40 days or so, that fairy will be in for a rude awakening. Given the way things go in the comics here, i kinda doubt it though. pity.

  11. Missing dialog from last panel:

    Faerie
    Of course you can’t… Ever.

    1. LOL. Nice. 🙂

      –Jaycee

  12. Hm, wouldn’t this imply that the Whisperer and the faerie were at least at some point friends?

    1. Not exactly, no. In classic D&D terms, faerie whisperers kind of have a Charm Person effect on faeries. In other words, they have (through abstinence) an irresistible appeal to faeries that they just can’t help. Once that Charm effect is broken (through having sex), the faerie realizes she was charmed and reacts somewhat negatively.

      –Jaycee

      1. Oh, so the whole “Befriending” statement if #12 was based solely on the abstinence trick & the “Resistant to Fae Magic” statement from #19 is null in void once said abstinence is ended. Right?

Just making sure I’m on the right page.

        1. Yup, that’s absolutely correct.

          –Jaycee

  13. Unless other magic was involved, i find it quite unfair that fairies would hold it agianst the whisperer just for NOT having sex. does this mean that ANYONE who hasn’t had sex in a few months can charm a fairie?

    1. Pretty much, yes. But think about it: how many humans do you know can TOTALLY abstain from anything sexual for that duration? (For the record, I’ve tried a few times and couldn’t quite make it past the first week…)

      –Jaycee

  14. Will this character ever show up again? I commented before, as you know, and I love her to death :D, I really hope she wasn’t a one shot!

  15. Yes. Now that I’m done with the 24 strips, I’m commissioning PortalComic with a series of long-form comics further detailing her misadventures with her faerie (now that she’s free of her control).

    –Jaycee

    1. I still want to see Heather and the Whisperer. I’m bad. 😀

I’ll leave you alone now, take care!

  16. # 25 I love her new look, quite attractive. I hope her and her Fae have more adventures :3

    1. Glad to hear it. And yes, that’s the plan (more adventures).

      –Jaycee

      1. My apologies am curious does the Whisperer have a Name or has that not been said >///<

        1. It’s Li Fang Fei. She was never named in the strips, but I will remedy to that in this new series.

          –Jaycee

        2. Ooo Nice Name and thank you for answering :3

        3. My pleasure. Thank you for reading.

          –Jaycee

  17. meh. I’m guessing this new comic is going to continue the trend of fairies bullying humans, and the humans helpless to do anything about it?

  18. how long until we get to see the next comic for this series?

    1. The guys at PortalComic had a very hectic summer, which delayed the strip. Pages should come in more regularly now.

      1. Can’t leave a damsel in distress ^.^

  21. loving this series, wish it would update more though

    1. You and me both. The fault is kinda mine. These guys produce great quality, but they’re not cheap. If I could afford it, I’d commission a bundle of pages all at once and they could dedicate themselves to them. As it is, I just write the scripts one at a time and they do it between bigger contracts. So they get to them when they have spare time.
