We don’t know how faeries reproduce and we haven’t seen (nor heard of) any male fae. Turning humans into other faeries can be as good a method as any.
An alternative hypothesis is that when a faerie’s endowments reach a certain size, they detach and transform into two little faeries.
To be honest I’m finding the faeries to be more and more vile as the strip goes on.
Under their influence Thane is continually raped, Heather forced into sexual encounters against her will and technically Marie is now a paedophile (Albert may have looked like an adult but he wasn’t one.)
I know I shouldn’t be taking things so seriously but the longer the strip continues the more the humour in it drifts away.
Well, in Marie’s case, the faerie (or was it the mirror?) did say that Albert was an adult in both mind and body. I don’t think an argument can be made for pedophilia in that particular scenario.
And Thane has been known to use his curse to benefit others from time to time. See: Baby. 🙂

Did Albert suddenly acquire a decade worth of memories? The strips as written do not lend credence to that hypothesis, “clearly stated” notwithstanding.

As far as Marie is concerned, there was nothing prepubescent about Albert at the time.
The term you were looking for was “child molester”.
Also, it does take gravity a few seconds to catch on sometimes (just look at the WB wildlife documentaries conscerning speedy desert birds and hungry carnivores)
