Clarifying a Few Things

Yes, the site is back, but only for the purpose of publishing one final strip. It’s not back and I’m no longer in the business of publishing adult content.

You might have already tried to find the old comics–sorry, it’s all gone from the site and I have no plans to re-release them. I’m sure the strips still linger somewhere in some obscure corner of the internet, but I’ve moved on to other things in my life and would be grateful if you’d all accept that.

You’re probably wondering why I stopped. I’ve certainly received a lot of questions, and there were plenty of fascinating conspiracy threads on the internet—the more entertaining ones having to do with someone doxing me and “going after my kids” or regarding some readership grumbling about some of the latest comics. Let me reassure you, neither of these scenarios bear any resemblance with reality. While I was doxed, it wasn’t until weeks after I closed the site (a classy gesture from an upset fan, I suppose). Also, since I have no kids (or a wife), it’d be hard to leverage them against me. Truth is, there were a lot of people in my life who knew I was doing the comic, it wasn’t a big secret. Certainly, every girl I dated knew about it very early in our relationship. I was always upfront about it.

And none of it was about reader feedback either. Membership and readership stayed steady for years, throughout all kinds of story arcs, so a few irritated readers weren’t going to change the story I was going to tell. For what it’s worth, Albert and Heather were never going to sleep together. It was fun making everyone believe they might, and that was the extent to which I was going to indulge that kind of fantasy.

So no, that wasn’t it. Things happened in my private life and I made the decision to shut it down. That’s all I’m willing to share. It wasn’t the end of the world, my life went on merrily after that, and there was no drama. There were no SJWs hunting me down, or #metoo warriors trying to sue me, or right-wing nutjobs trying to shut me down because “OMG sex!” It’s all good. It all turned out okay.

So that’s it. Feel free to come here from time to time, who knows, I might post some stuff once in a while. Y’know, just for shits and giggles.

  1. Will you reopen the site when she leaves you?

    1. Objection your honor, leading question.

(The correct question would be: did you close the site because of a girl?)

      😉

  2. That’s a pretty severe lifestyle change. Who got to you?

    1. Making Bloomin’ Faeries! wasn’t really a lifestyle, unless you consider spending a few hours a week doing something a lifestyle. By that standard, I also have a fitness lifestyle, a gaming lifestyle, a Netflix lifestyle, a moviegoing lifestyle, a job lifestyle, an eating lifestyle, and yes, a public transit lifestyle.

In the grand scheme of things, it was just one of the many things I did. It didn’t define me.

      1. Public transit…you poor poor soul.

        1. It can be especially bad with certain faerie curses. 😉

  3. Let us know if you make something new, even if it’s not fetish related. You were one of the few webcomics I still enjoyed after college and I’d love to support you.

  4. This is more of a ‘too little too late’ note from me, but… I read the entire series and most of your side-posts (I came in early after the strips went to color, but binge-read) and I never subscribed. I had never spent money on ANY webstrip unless/until they put a print-version out, but in all honesty, I never came closer to breaking that rule than I did with Bloomin’ Faeries. I wanted to get the extra content pretty badly, but I just couldn’t make that leap. I know it doesn’t do you any good to learn this but, sincerely, I really enjoyed reading your work here.

    1. Thank you for being part of the audience. This was never about the money for me. BF had a decent revenue, but I reinvested all of it (and then some) to create more content. This was more something I did for fun and as a gift for people who enjoyed the same kinks. If you enjoyed it (but couldn’t afford the members-only content), it’s fine by me.

    1. A good artist you may want to look into has started his own site, https://erotibotica.com. I have been following for a while on HF and his art is top notch and his stories are hilarious.

  6. I kind of felt that it was pretty demeaning to everyone, which was very fair to everyone. At least you’re not pulling a Tatsuya Ishida, going from having several different characters and interesting locales inside the comic to being a one-trick pony to preach at us. I can respect your epiphany and how you’re handling it. Good luck in future endeavors.

    1. Don’t take that reason too seriously, it’s just a gag for the strip.

  8. I really appreciate this goodbye strip. Though i do wish we could have seen Heather one last time.

Can i ask what made you decide to this strip? When you shut down last year it sounded like you had no intention of returning.

    1. I’m starting a new (non-adult) project. A number of BF readers who reached out to me by email suggested other readers might want to hear about it, and that using BF as a redirect might be a good idea.

        1. It’s a series of stories set in a fantasy world. I’ll be announcing it in greater details on October 1, and it’s set to go live on November 1 of this year.

(Oh, and for those who care, there will be illustrations, and they’ll be done by none other than Wondollar.)

  9. Would you ever consider reposting the comics? As for fans of the comic we would like to read the comic again as even though some would consider it crude it was fun

    1. At the moment, that’s not something I’m prepared to do, no, but the future is a pretty big place. Who knows how I’ll feel about it in five or ten years…

Thanks for providing closure and letting us know you’re doing well. Good luck in your future endeavors, and if you ever choose to restore the archive several years down the pike, it will be a wonderful gift!

  11. Thank you for this. I still have this in my Comics google folder and clicked it today for shits & giggles! Surprise. Happy to hear your real reason. Enjoyed the strip from the beginning. Miss it.
    Thank you

    1. It’s not the real reason, but it was a good excuse for a gag. 🙂

  12. Thank you for all the time and effort you’ve spent bringing a little humor and levity to a lot of people in this wide world.

I wish nothing but the best for you and your future endeavors whether or not we see them, do what makes you happy ?

  13. I decided to check on a whim and was surprised to see it back up. I am sorry that you are done with the story and really hope that you change your mind and repost the comics some day. That being said good luck in whatever life decides to throw at you.

  14. Sad to see you are shutting down the comic. Happy for you that it appears to be on your own terms. I hope you do continue to post stuff over time. I’ve certainly appreciated the lighthearted tone of the humor. Best of luck to you in the future!

  15. To humor is to demean. Whether the demeaned is persons, concepts, life or reality itself.
To deny oneself right to demean is to deny oneself ability to contribute.

Also do not underestimate the value of your comic. People didn’t come here for erotics itself(as there’s plenty of that in the net) but for the story tied to it.

    1. As I mentioned to other readers above, the demeaning thing was just for the gag, it’s not why I stopped the comic.

  16. Good for you Jaycee. As someone who has enjoyed your content for years I do hope you come back with a new comic or even reboot this one. If not then have a good one! I wish you all the best!

  17. Can’t wait to see your new endevor, if its done half as well as BF it will still be awesome!

  18. I was sad to see this comic go under It was great, and I enjoyed it a lot. One of my biggest regrets, was never being able to afford a membership. I don’t suppose you would be willing to put up the member’s content somewhere where it could be purchased?

    2
    4
    1. Unfortunately, I have no plans to do this at this time.

      –Jaycee

  19. I saw a casting call talking about the comic after it was taken down.

You didn’t sell the rights did you?

    1. It was an unauthorized initiative. It doesn’t appear to have gone anywhere.

  20. Well we wait for your new content, is there any recommendations for other strips that are in the same vein as yours? What i mean by that is humor-erotica.

    1. I suppose everyone would agree that Oglaf is funny, erotic, and WAY more popular than BF ever was. I don’t know too much about other strips in the same vein, I don’t think there are that many…

  21. Somebody got a job / publishing contract that signs over rights to all your output and/or requires a SFW wholesome online presence?

  22. Well, I’m going to miss this strip but at least there was a bit of closure.

The sudden and unexplained departure had a lot of people worried and fueled a lot of speculation. I am glad that you’re doing well though. As a request, could you keep this URL alive so we all don’t forget the good times? And if the comic ever does reboot or at least have an archive published, could you put it here?

    3
    2
    1. I do plan on leaving this URL, at least for a while. I have no plans to publish an archive at the moment, but if I ever change my mind, if course I’ll do it here.

      –Jaycee

  23. Good luck on your future endeavors, Jaycee. You and your fairies will be missed. 🙂

  24. If you guys would to see something that may help to fill the void left by BF, https://erotibotica.com is produced by a great artist that I have followed on HF foe a long time. Their art is excellent and the stories are all about sex and silliness.

  25. Good Luck Jaycee, and Im following your new work! I missed out on Blooming as I joined way too late and only got halfway before it stopped so I have missed a huge chunk of it and for that I am sad!

Anyway I hope you return it to us at some point so I can find out what happened! LOL!

    Enjoy the rest!
