I’d say the princess has had her share of lovers… and she’s never taken them seriously at all. Just tools to achieve what she wants, really; a princess doesn’t/shouldn’t get romantically involved, because her marriage is going to be a matter of politics and negotiation.
As for sir two-guns… He probably doesn’t get a lot of intimacy either way. Most women would probably be mighty put off by his, hem hem, ‘defining characteristics’.
If anything I’d say he gets his fair share of the intimacy *hemhem* in the physical sense. Maybe he’s really just looking for someone to settle down etc. etc. and lets his romantic nature get the better of him.
